How does an international campaign work?

The process starts with the planning of a Sponsored Collection. The komoot editorial team will support you in creating high-quality content in the right format. This also involves translating your content into the local language of your audience – at no extra cost.

Our partners choose their preferred activity, region, budget, and duration, and together, we create the right content. Following this process, we launch the campaign, and your content gets published wherever your target audience is – from the DACH region to the Benelux countries and the UK. After the campaign ends, the content remains visible in your partner profile and can be found through the search.

Successful campaigns from our partners

The regional tourism organization of Thuringia in Germany specializes in long-distance hiking. Together with our content creators from Saddle Stories, we helped compile a Collection of long-distance hiking routes along the Rennsteig Trail. As well as appealing to outdoor enthusiasts from Germany, the campaign was also aimed at nature lovers in the Netherlands.

With their latest campaign on komoot, Bormio Tourism in Italy pursued a clear goal: To entice mountain bikers in Italy as well as in the DACH region and the Benelux countries. Bormio Tourism promoted the Collection, "Three epic days in the Alps – Bormio & Santa Caterina MTB adventure” to their audience on komoot.

In 2024, Zurich hosted the Cycling and Paracycling World Championship. A cross-regional campaign raised awareness for cycling in the region, drawing the attention of an international audience to the country’s best paracycling routes. Target groups included cyclists in France, Germany, the UK, Italy, and the Netherlands.

The "Côte Méditerranée – hiking in Occitania” Collection was aimed at outdoor enthusiasts in the DACH region, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and the UK. The French tourism region successfully highlighted Mediterranean hiking in the stunning Occitania region.
