Improved visibility of partner content on komoot
A partner profile is your organization’s ticket to the world of komoot, enabling you to create content about your region on the platform. In the komoot Academy, you can become a Community Expert.
With a Sponsored Collection, you can generate additional reach for your content, getting it in front of even more of the community. Plus, this popular campaign format now also gives your content improved visibility within your target audience – right in the komoot Tour search.
The komoot Tour search
Up until recently, users entering a regional search term were only shown Smart Tours – routes based on objective information and map data from OpenStreetMap (OSM) and the recommendations of komoot users.
By request of our partners, we have adjusted the Tour search. Search results now also include one-day Tours created by tourism organisations – right at the top and in direct view – giving the community greater access to stunning trails backed by local expertise.
Talking about OSM: Ever since its founding, komoot has been using OpenStreetMap as a data source for map generation. In our magazine article, we present the open-data solution in more detail and give you five reasons why you should use it.
Tours by partners in the top search results
For a Tour to show up in the search results, it needs to be part of a Sponsored Collection. The reason is simple: Whenever a Collection is planned as a campaign, the komoot team will check the information. This quality control ensures that komoot users are only shown content that was created by experts and checked in advance.
In addition, Tours by our nature conservation partners will be added to the search in the upcoming months. In this case, too, the in-depth, local expertise provides added value for our users.
By the way: It’s not just newly created content that benefits from this update. Boosting them in a resource-saving way, existing Collections will also be displayed among the top results.
The bottom line: Improved visibility for an increased reach
If a user clicks a Tour from a Sponsored Collection in the search results, the Tour details and respective tourism partner will be displayed. This gives an additional boost to the content’s visibility and reach, and raises awareness for the partner who created the Tour. The update is currently available in the komoot web app and will soon be released for mobile devices.
Would you like to give your content an additional boost too? Plan a Sponsored Collection – for a new or existing Tour! If you have little or no experience with creating Collections, we recommend joining the komoot Academy. Alternatively, simply get in touch with us!
