Recap of our end-of-year webinar

On 26 September, we ran our end-of-year webinar. We explained the advantages of komoot as a marketing platform for outdoor content to nearly 240 participants. During the interactive online event, surveys meant that participants could actively engage, leading to a lively exchange. 

Denis and Max hosted the German-language session, while Fiorenza led the Italian one and Thomas took charge of the French session. The lively Q&A session at the end showed the participants’ strong interest in the topics and the insights they were able to take away.

Komoot as a marketing platform for outdoor content

With Sponsored Collections, komoot offers its partners a great opportunity to market their outdoor content. These aspects were also covered in the webinar.

Advantages for komoot partners

More than 40 million users worldwide already use komoot to find inspiration for their outdoor adventures. Nature lovers also increasingly reach for their smartphones to open komoot for navigation purposes when exploring new places. 

Tourism organizations as well as companies from many other industries can take advantage of komoot’s wide reach. For instance, our Sponsored Collections are a perfect marketing tool to deliver outdoor content to target audiences.

Successful Sponsored Collections from our partners

The partnership between the French tourism organization and komoot has been going strong for two years now. This year, the goal was to raise awareness for the ViaRhôna cycle route among cyclists in France, Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland. With 480,000 views, 9,700 clicks, and a save rate of 61 %, the Collection was a hit with the community.

 

During the winter, La Thuile is a well-known ski resort. In the summer, the Italian town and its surroundings turn into a stunning hiking destination. To promote the region as a top hiking area, the tourism organization relies on the services of komoot. So far, they’ve launched three Sponsored Collections and published a total of 117 hiking routes. 

The engagement results are impressive: In only three months, over one million views were recorded in France, the Benelux countries, and Italy, of which more than 2,000 people liked or saved the routes.

Urban hiking is becoming increasingly popular. In line with this trend, the tourism organization Visit Essen already offers comprehensive content on komoot, including four top-class circular hiking trails covering more than 100 kilometres. And the komoot community obviously loves the content!

Surveys during the online session

Feedback from our webinar

To actively engage webinar participants and learn from them, we conducted a live survey. We were particularly pleased with the feedback that 80 % of webinar guests would recommend komoot as a marketing platform. 

Another interesting fact was that 85 % of participants consider increasing brand awareness as the most important marketing goal. What’s more, 48 % find it challenging to reach their target audience. In this case, komoot’s great reach provides an ideal foundation to draw your specified target group’s attention to your region. 

For the 28 % of survey participants who struggle with content creation, the komoot editorial team is always happy to help.
