Event recap of the 2024 komoot Partner Awards

On 20 January 2025, we presented the komoot Partner Awards at the CMT in Stuttgart, one of Europe’s largest public events for travel and tourism. The awards take a unique approach: They’re based on the interactions of Europe’s largest outdoor community, whose activities on komoot highlight the content that truly resonates with them. This approach is important to us, as we strive to create as much value as possible .

The event was hosted by tourism and sustainability expert Dolores Semeraro, who brought her expertise with an inspiring keynote. For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony was also streamed live.

What are the komoot Partner Awards?

Following the success of the inaugural edition, the komoot Partner Awards were once again presented this year. What are the awards all about? They honor marketing campaigns that resonate particularly well with our outdoor community. The accolades are awarded across various categories, and all partners who promoted outdoor content as a Sponsored Collection on komoot in 2024 were automatically considered as candidates.

This means: If you publish an existing komoot Collection as a campaign this year or create a new one together with us, you’ll automatically qualify for the 2025 awards. Are you motivated and raring to go? Contact us and we’ll draw up a roadmap together with you!

With their Collection of breathtaking landscapes and charming routes, Ardèche achieved the highest click-through rate.

The campaign by Destination Canada captivated the community with true insights into untouched nature and achieved the highest interaction rate.

S-Bahn Berlin secured the highest click-through rate for their clever route planning and a perfect link between the city and nature.

DB Radverleih inspired the community with user-friendly bike rental options, achieving the strongest interaction rate.

With creative initiatives promoting exercise and health, AOK Baden-Württemberg bagged an outstanding click-through rate among komoot users.

AOK PLUS achieved strong community engagement and the highest interaction rate with their innovative health concepts.

 

Bauer Natur seamlessly combined lifestyle and outdoor themes, captivating many users with their Collection and achieving an exceptional click-through rate.

Hansefit inspired the outdoor community with creative fitness and wellness ideas, earning them the award for the highest interaction rate.

 

Their inviting hikes across German y for a local audience earned bionicdry® the award for the highest click-through rate.

The adidas Five Ten brand inspired the MTB community with adventure stories and was rewarded with a high interaction rate.

The Mittelweser-Region connected to users with idyllic landscapes and cultural sights, inspiring many to explore its themed cycling routes.

Hunsrück-Mittelrhein showcased a Collection of picturesque circular hikes, achieving an impressively high interaction rate.

With sustainable travel ideas and a focus on nature conservation, Tourspain made a powerful statement.

The “Paris je t’aime” campaign combined creative ideas with cultural charm, showing komoot users how to rediscover the city in a new way.

The Italian region of Bormio showcased itself with breathtaking photos that sparked the community’s sense of adventure and curiosity. The content was created by Swiss photographer, gravel biker, and komoot Content Creator Alain Rumpf.

A public award for global relevance

The new Global Choice Award

This year’s Partner Awards introduced an exciting new category: The Global Choice Award celebrates the worldwide reach of our outdoor community and partners. Our team shortlisted nine exceptional collaborations from all Sponsored Collections over the past year. The finalists were selected for their creativity, global relevance, and impact.

In a subsequent public vote, the tourism industry chose the winning Collection. The most votes went to Visit Essen and their Collection of hiking routes. The campaign shows how seamlessly urban and nature-based experiences intertwine in Essen. This win proves that it’s not how long a partner has been using our platform that matters, as Visit Essen have only been active on komoot for a year.
