Our new colleague for the French market: Get to know Thomas!
With over 10 years of experience in Sales and Partnerships, Thomas brings a lot of expertise to our B2B team and to our French partners. He describes himself as approachable, a lover of networking, and he always strives to understand other perspectives and create the most value for our partners – and our community.
We asked Thomas five questions about his resume, his daily work routine, and his experiences with remote work. We also wanted to know what he personally associates with komoot. Learn more about our new teammate.
Hi Thomas! Please introduce yourself in a few sentences.
Hi all, I’m Thomas. I’m originally from the French Alps but I’ve lived in different European capitals these past ten years. I’m passionate about the outdoors, discovering new cultures, and getting to know new people. And I’m definitely a music nerd.
What do you do at komoot and what does your day-to-day work look like?
At komoot, I focus on building meaningful B2B partnerships in France, mainly with tourism destinations and outdoor brands, in order to help them promote their valuable content within our community of outdoor enthusiasts.
My role consists mainly of making sure our partners understand our value proposition and how komoot can help them to promote their outdoor offer in the most relevant and efficient way possible. To do this, a lot of dialogue with partners in calls, personal meetings, informal conversations and sales trips across the beautiful regions of France are necessary. This is how I gather knowledge about our B2B audience and build long-lasting partnerships.
What advantages do you see in a remote-first structure like komoot?
A remote-first structure allows me to be closer to my partners and to organize my calendar in a way that best fits the demands of my role. It also allows me to create the life I want. This could be either being closer to nature, organizing my schedule according to my most productive hours and my sport practice or, most importantly for me: being able to escape the big cities that used to hold all the interesting job opportunities.
Next to the advantages for employees, being a remote company has the big advantage for employers, enabling them to hire the best talent around without location constraints and to build diverse teams, too.
What are your super skills, professionally and privately? When are you the right person to talk to?
I could say that I am easily approachable and always aim to understand my conversation partner, them being a friend, a relative, or a professional partner. After ten years working in sales and partnerships, I enjoy improving the business of our partners while having a good time during the collaboration.
